Security forces organise civic action programmes

Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): The 173 battalion of CRPF conducted a civic action programmme (CAP) at its battalion headquarters, Dimapur Airfield, on March 9.

An update from the battalion stated that its commandant, Vishnu Gautam, handed over a solar lantern rechargeable system (LED) to the 30 beneficiaries from Chümoukedima village during the programme.

Certificates, caps and t-shirts to 10 youth, who had undergone motor driving training organised by the unit at its transit camp during November-December 2021, were also awarded during the programme.

In a separate programme, the 37 battalion BSF at Chedema organized a series of civic action programmes on March 7 at Chedema village, Chedema model village, and Keyakie in Kohima village.

It stated that Pubali Sonowal, president BWWA of M&C frontier (Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Cachar Assam), inaugurated a kitchen block at Malo-o cultural hall in Chedema village and a building of civil school at Keyakie in Kohima village. The inaugurations were conducted in the presence of Vinod Kumar, commandant of 37 BN BSF, Chedema.

Meanwhile, sports items such as table tennis boards with accessories and other items were also distributed to the youth. 

The battalion commandant, Vinod Kumar, has assured to conduct a similar programme in the days to come.
