School observes National Technology Day

Dimapur, May 23 (EMN):
Documentary filmmaking competition marked the National Technology Day organised by St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School on May 23.

Daniel Krocha, Deputy Director of Information and Technology and the chief guest, stated that National Technology Day was observed to mark the testing of Shakti missile in India. This year, India celebrated the National Technology Day on the theme “Science for people and people for science.”

Daniel emphasised that in today’s world, students need to work hard and use the technology wisely for the betterment of the society. He stated that technologies were invented for the betterment of the society at the global and local levels.

He appreciated the school authority, teaching faculty and parents for bringing up the institution at high level by introducing technology in education. He also congratulated the school for bringing out good academic results.

The chief guest also gave away cash award for the best documentary films made by the students.

The school’s principal, Rev. Fr. Jaison CJ, conveyed warm welcome to all the dignitaries and the students community. The students also performed a skit on the theme “On the effect of digitisation.”

Students of Classes X and XII were trained to make 16 films on different themes with the vision of “misuse not your mobile but make use of it.”

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks pronounced by Rev. Sr. Binda, the school’s vice principal.
