SARDP-NE highway damage: Longleng to disburse compensation

Dimapur, Oct.28 (EMN): The Longleng district administration has announced disbursal of compensation for damage caused “for 2 laning of Merangkong-Tamlu-Mon road” of the special accelerated road development project for Northeast (SARDP-NE).

An update from the government bulletin DIPR on Sunday stated that the administration would require the “beneficiaries” to sign undertakings prior to their being given compensation.

The deputy commissioner of Longleng district John Tsulise Sangtam has informed all in concern that the “damage compensation for 2 laning of Merangkong-Tamlu-Mon road of the SARDP-NE in the state of Nagaland under Longleng district is ready for payment. It would be electronically transferred to the accounts of the respective “beneficiaries” after undertakings are signed, the DIPR stated.

All the “beneficiaries” who will be receiving compensation for phase-A both of package-I, design “chainage” 0.00 to 20.00 kilometers; and package-II, design “chainage 20.00 to 40.00 kilometers” in Tamlu sub-division of Longleng district are directed to submit their respective account number. They are to submit their account numbers to the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Tamlu to sign the undertaking within one week.

“All those having no bank accounts are directed to open their saving accounts immediately within a week and submit their details to the ADC Tamlu,” the DIPR stated.

It further asked the bank manager of the State Bank of India at Longleng to “facilitate the beneficiaries in opening their saving accounts within the stipulated period of one week time to enable the beneficiaries to avail the damage compensation.”

The administration is said to have informed that no cash payments would be made to any “beneficiary.”  This information is for strict compliance by all in concern, the updates added.
