Sainik School observes International Yoga Day

Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): The Sainik School Punglwa observed the International Yoga Day on May 9 at the school’s premises. Updates on Wednesday informed that the school observed the event prior to its actual day which falls on June 21, due to summer vacation.
More than 600 staff, students, and families participated in the event. Different yoga postures were demonstrated.
The school’s principal, Sharad R Keskar spoke on the importance of yoga in one’s life. He said yoga provides physical fitness, peace of mind and soul.
The International Yoga Day was celebrated to raise worldwide awareness of the benefits of yoga. It aimed to inspire young minds to incorporate yoga into their daily routine. Yoga not only enhances physical strength but contributes largely towards the mental health, spiritual growth and helps individual to imbibe the value of discipline. This exercise helps to discover the sense of oneness, the world, and the nature around, the press release stated.
