Er. Limadongdang Jamir giving away the best academic (individual) award to Dinglo Kodak on the occasion of 12th anniversary of Sainik School Punglwa on May 11.

Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) celebrated its 12th anniversary on May 11 with Er. Limadongdang Jamir, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD, as the special alumnus guest of the occasion.

At his arrival, the special alumnus guest was presented a guard of honour by the cadets of senior division NCC cadets of school. He also inaugurated the science cum art exhibition put up by the cadets.

In his address, the chief guest appreciated the discipline and talent displayed by the cadets. He also acknowledged the efforts of the teachers in all the achievement of the cadets. He advised the cadets to recognise and reciprocate the efforts put in by their teachers to achieve success in life.

The chief guest gave away the best academic (individual) award to Dinglo Kodak, best sportsman of the year to Rokozobei Nisa, best OLQ to Ajit Kumar, best passing-out cadet to Ngacho Yokha. The academic trophy was presented to Doyang House for their outstanding performance during the academics year 2018-19.

The most prestigious Cock House Trophy for the academic year 2018-2019 was presented to Melak House. Father of Cadet Punyo Rika, who joined the 141 NDA course, was also felicitated on the occasion.

The special alumnus guest was presented with a school memento by Lt. Col. M Kiran Meitei, officiating principal. In his annual report, Lt. Col. M Kiran Meitei asserted that the school remains focussed on its objective of “One aim, One goal NDA.”

Kiran Meitei also informed that cadet Manna Deb, the first batch (2013-14) became the first commissioned officer as Sub-Lieutenant on May 26, 2018, from Naval Academy, Kochi.

The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, school’s vice principal.
