Rupreo Youth Organisation (RYO) of Chiechama village in Kohima district celebrated its golden jubilee on Friday with Mhalezolie Metha, chairman of Chiechama Village Council (CVC) as the guest of honour.
Addressing the youth, Metha has stressed on the need to rekindle relationship with the neighbouring villages through peace treaty and building bond of friendship. As the organisation celebrates its golden jubilee, he challenged the youth to rededicate and commit themselves to work for a progressive society.
He further called upon the citizens to exhibit honesty and integrity for posterity.
On the occasion, the first RYO president, Yaselie Rupreo, presented an account in the formation of the organisation and invoked God’s blessings among the members.
Delie Metha, president of Chiechama Village Youth Organisation (CVYO), and Neizolie Rupreo, president of Rupreo Chienuo, delivered greetings.
The programme was chaired by Thepfukhrietuo Rupreo and a song was presented by Silievi Rupreo and Kereiu Rupreo. Neichalie Rupreo, pastor of Northern Angami Prayer Centre, Nerhema, and Kevilezo Rupreo, assistant pastor of CRC AG Road, Kohima, offered prayers. Mhalezolie Metha also unveiled a monolith in the presence of leaders and members of Rupreo Youth Organisation.
