Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): The Wokha district administration has informed that the ministry of Road Transport & Highways has conveyed the administrative approval, technical approval and financial sanction for reassessment of damage properties for widening of the existing single/intermediate lane road of NH-61 (new-02).

The road is from kilometre 83 to kilometre 101 on NH-61 (new-02), updates stated.

The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave updates on August 27 informing about the ministry’s approval.

In this regard, a site inspection will be undertaken by the district’s administration and the Public Works Department (national highways).

The village councils of new Wokha village, Koio village, Tsungiki village, Chukitong town and Thenhyan village are requested to cooperate. The inspection will begin from September 2, the IPR stated.

Further, the administration has informed the public of said villages that the assessment that was taken earlier concerning damage compensation for structures likely to be affected by widening works from kilometer 83 around the Hammock Resort area to kilometre 101 in Tsungiki village is to be considered null and void.

This is due to certain modifications made by the ministry of Road Transport & Highways with regard to the Right of Ways and alignment of the project, the IPR stated.
