Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): MLA Y Vikheho Swu has asked the EE (R&B) Pughoboto to maintain the roads and reminded on the need to increase the pace of road construction works with visibility.
The legislator said this during the monthly meeting of Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB), Pughoboto held at the DB court hall, Pughoboto on November 13, an update from DIPR informed.
Swu directed the PWD to maintain the road from Kashanyu junction to Pughoboto town and Pughoboto to Mukalimi and other areas before Christmas. He further informed the department to clear the jungle on the roads side in Doyang (Tapu) areas and that he would send an excavator (JCB) to Kichilimi to clear up the roads very soon.
SDAO Myanthung Patton, who presented department activities through a powe point presentation, spoke about Focus-IFAD, PMKISAN and other CSS programmes implemented by the department. He mentioned that efforts are being made to produce winter crops like pea, gram, broccoli, cabbage, etc. through groups and individual farmers and stressed on the need for farmers to produce crops in all season for self-sufficiency.
CDPO Ghathashi, Chiro who presented the activities of the social department, said that programmes were conducted in the sub-division under Ghathashi ICDS project under Pughoboto sub-division despite the pandemic. She added that the project covers all 53 Anganwadi centres in all 24 villages and town.
Next power point presentation will be presented by Industries & Commerce and Soil & Water conservation department. The house also fixed the date of next SDPDB meeting-cum-advent Christmas on December 14.
