Dimapur, July 20: Referring to Chief Minister’s comment regarding termination of employees along with the scheme under flagship programs like RMSA and SSA in the local dailies on June 15, the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) batch 2013 said that RMSA/SSA 2013 were appointed as regular state employees by the Directorate of School Education and not by the concerned missions.
A press statement issued by RMSA president Thejazelie Tase and press secretary Mezhuzonuo Mepfhuo pointed out that “The RMSA 2013 are in no way under any contract as it is not mentioned neither in the advertisement dated 9th Dec 2011 nor in the appointment orders dated 22nd March 2013. Unlike contract or adhoc employees, RMSA 2013 has been appointed in the PB 9300-34800, Grade Pay of Rs.4200 and a deduction of 10 % towards NPS monthly which is clearly written in our appointment orders issued by Directorate of School Education. All these clearly and without a doubt points towards the paramount fact that we are regular employees of the Government of Nagaland and henceforth, the term ‘co-terminus’ can never be applied to us.”“Further, NSSATA had refuted the CM’s ‘co-terminus’ remarks on July 19 and had mentioned that at a meeting at chief secretary’s conference hall, the chief secretary, finance commissioner, commissioner and secretary school education, all additional directors of school education, mission director SSA various subordinate officials acknowledged that SSA 2010 and 2013 batch were regular government employees”.
The RMSA pointed out that RMSA Mission Director and NRMSATA (Nagaland Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association) was also a part of that meeting and RMSA 2013 batch were also acknowledged by the officials as regular state employees.
RMSA also pointed out that DoSE has directed all DEO’s and SDEO’s to immediately collect the bio-data of all graduate teachers and SSA graduate teachers (regular) who were appointed upto 2013 for compilation of seniority list which was published in the local dailies on July 20 but the RMSA 2013 who were appointed along with the SSA 2013 graduate teachers have not been mentioned.
The RMSA clarified that RMSA and SSA 2013 applied for their respective posts through advertisement dated 9th Dec 2011 for recruitment of teachers which gave no reference of RMSA or SSA and that the teachers went through the same selection process and share a common merit list, subject wise, and had the same date of appointment. “It was only during the time of posting that RMSA and SSA teachers were segregated.”
