Dimapur, Feb. 14 (EMN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has claimed that the list of Lecturers and Demonstrators published by the Technical Education Department (TED) on February 10 is “illegal” and requested the chief minister of the state to declare the results null and void.

In an open letter to the chief minister of the state, the party said that the “posts of Lecturers fall under the purview of NPSC, and therefore the recruitment process carried out by the TED is illegal and unconstitutional”.

“What is most galling is that the TED simply advertised the candidates’ qualification criteria and made an interview call based on the candidates’ graduation/post graduation marks without conducting written exams. This is another pristine example of khushi-khushi culture as practised in the state,” read the letter, adding that the advisor for TED and the TED had unfairly defended it.

It said the contention of the TED and the advisor of TED that the recruitment process has been transparent and is based on ‘Merit’ is bereft of reasoning.

“In the interest of the student community, the RPP appeals to the you, the Chief Minister, to see to the unfairness of the whole recruitment process, and cancel the so-called departmental exam of the TED and declare the results null and void,” read the letter.
