Rio inaugurates Medziphema Town Community Centre and City Centre

Dimapur, May 6 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday inaugurated Medziphema Town Community Centre and Medziphema City Centre.

The facilities were funded under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (RAY) and constructed by M/S Naagaamii Infratech Pvt. Ltd., updated DIPR.

Rio said that Medziphema Sub-Division is a strategic location on the highway with much potential for growth, because of which several institutions like SASRD, ICAR, Horticulture for Excellence etc. had been set up in the area.

While thanking the Centre for sanctioning the projects, and lauding the contractors for their commendable work and the people for making it a reality, he urged the people to protect and make good use of the facilities.

He said that the government had spent a large amount of money but it would become a waste if the local people don’t utilise it.

The chief minister suggested the public to set up a wholesale market in the area so that the people can buy goods from one location.

Reminding the allocation of INR 65 crore in the state budget for providing loan to micro-financing farmers and micro-entrepreneurs, he urged the people to be sincere and work hard so that the government can provide financial help. He suggested the people, especially the youths, to become progressive modern farmers by getting themselves trained in agriculture and allied sectors.

Rio also assured to construct roads in Medziphema town.

Advisor of Sericulture, Excise, and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio gave a brief report of the projects. Minister Jacob Zhimomi, advisor Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, MLA Azheto Zhimomi, Chumoukedima DC, Commissioner of Police, local leaders and government officials also attended the programme, informed an update from DIPR.
