Razeba range teachers confer about transformation

Dimapur, September 10 (EMN):
A conference of ‘Razeba range teachers’ was organised by the SCERT in collaboration with the Village Education Committee of Razeba for government and private school teachers recently. The event was conducted on September 9 at St. John School in Razeba.

The programme was conducted with the theme “social transformation through education,” updates from the organisers informed on Sunday. Dr. Zavise Rume, associate professor; and Thebi Joseph Shupao, assistant professor of the SCERT were the resource persons for the event, the updates informed.

The programme was graced by Deo Nukhu, advisor to Higher Education was the guest of honour of the event. In his speech at the programme, he encouraged the teachers to be the agents of change and ‘impart education through practical experience.’

Topics such as innovative teaching and ‘joyful learning,’ besides a discourse on ‘professional code of ethics’ for teachers were the highlight of the programme. The discourse on the topics was delivered by Dr. Zavise Rume. The topics ‘improving teacher’s morale with team building’ and ‘classroom management’ were dealt by Thebi Joseph Shupao.

“The resource persons emphasized the need to make teaching as a joyful experience and encouraged the participants to rededicate their teaching profession to be more effective teachers,” the press release stated.

At the end of the conference, the participants voluntarily took an ‘oath of commitment to be sincere and dedicated teachers,’ the updates informed.

About 100 teachers from government institutions and private schools in Razeba range participated in the programme, the updates informed.
