Citizens and tribal bodies in Tuensang hold a peaceful rally in solidarity with an abused minor girl.

TUENSANG — A peaceful rally was held at the Town Hall in Tuensang town on Tuesday to raise awareness on child rights and protection and to demand justice for a minor girl who was recently abused in Dimapur.
The rally was held in solidarity with the minor girl who was sexually abused and physically harassed in Dimapur over an extended period.
Delivering the keynote address, Chang Sao Thangjam Setshang (CSTS) President Thonti stated that her parent had sent her child to the city for better education, but for more than a year, her guardian had subjected her to sexual assault, ill treatment, physical abuse, rape and continuous harassment.
She requested the investigative agencies and the judiciary to sternly carry out justice according to the law. "Our procession is to show a symbol of unity and collective voice," she stated.

In a solidarity speech, Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) President C Sanglekhumba expressed gratitude to the police, led by Director General of Police Rupin Sharma, for undertaking a thorough investigation of the case, which led to the arrest of all three accused. On behalf of the student community, he requested the authorities concerned that "bail should not be granted to the accused at any cost".
Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) Executive Chairman W Chingmak urged the people of Nagaland to ponder upon the slogan, "Nagaland for Christ", asserting that society is heading in an unexpected direction. "Justice must be served to the victim, and our solidarity stands with her and her family at this time," he said.
Awareness on Child Rights and Protection was delivered by Mary, Vice President, CTS. Solidarity speeches were also delivered by Tribal bodies like Sangtam Union Tuensang Town, Yimkhuing Arih Ako and Tikhir Women Association Tuensang Town.
