Quarantine centre at IG stadium to be operational from June 4

Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): Indira Gandhi Stadium, one of the designated quarantine centres in Kohima, will be operational from June 4. Rennovation work at the multipurpose hall and badminton court at the stadium has been going on since May 27 to be converted to temporary quarantine centres.

According to an update from DIPR, the quarantine centre has been divided into cubicles, which will be able to accommodate about 470 people. Facilities such as lavatories, electricity and running water are put in place.

The district task force will take the charges for maintenance and streamline returnees from different states at the quarantine centre while churches will be managing ‘common kitchen’ to help cater to the needs of the people at the centre.

Terms and conditions of paid quarantine centres in Kohima

The Kohima administration has issued terms and conditions for the permitted paid quarantine centres — Hotel Vivor, Hotel De-oriental Grand, Hotel Eastgate, Hotel Lavisto, Hotel Millennium, Hotel Grandeur, and Hotel Holiday Oki.

The paid quarantine centres have been directed to strictly follow standard operating procedures laid down by the office of chief medical officer, Kohima and advisory issued by the principal director of Health and Family Welfare.

Following are the rules and regulations for returnees and hotel managements:
  • The applicant/returnee should apply for availing paid quarantine facility from the facilitation centre located at DC office in Kohima, establishment branch (ground floor) through their representatives.
  • Applicants/returnees can only avail accommodation at paid quarantine centre after being cleared as asymptomatic from the reception/screening centre located at Dimapur. Due certification issued by the medical officer is a pre-requisite document to be produced at the facilitation centre during application.
  • Application forms for paid quarantine facility will be available at the facilitation centre on first come first serve basis. However, priority will be given to those having past medical records and pregnant women, subject to production of medical records.
  • The district task force will peruse the application and allocate the paid quarantine facility to the applicants/returnees subject to availability of rooms. The application by the returnee does not entitle them the right to avail the facility.
  • The hotel management apart from the normal tariff rates on food and rooms may charge nominal rates on health safety gears/food packing with prior approval from the DC office.
  • Once the returnee has checked into the paid quarantine facility, he/she has to remain confined in their room for the quarantine period strictly. The returnee will be allowed to check out only after receiving clearance from the CMO co-ordination team headed by district surveillance officer. Tsutsowe Kupa, SDO (Civil) Tseminyu has been designated as the nodal officer of the facilitation centre for paid quarantine centre.
  • The hotel association will officially nominate two executive members to be stationed at the facilitation centre to assist the nodal officer.
  • The details of the returnee who has availed the paid quarantine facility should be shared by the facilitation centre to the CMO co-ordination team headed by district surveillance officer (8787706529) for necessary surveillance.

  • The paid quarantine facility are provided to returnees coming back to Nagaland who are willing to bear their own expenses for food and lodging and will be required to follow mandatory laid down SOP, advisories and guidelines of the government.

Paid quarantine centres committee constituted

A committee to oversee all matters relating to paid quarantine centres under Kohima has been constituted with Kohima SDO(C) Sadar, Longasen Lotha as convenor and Deputy CMO Dr. Hoito Sema, EAC I Changsang, convenor of the management team, Kohima Hotels and Restaurants Union, Khriezo Suokhrie and member of management team, Pelevotuo Solo as member.
