Public cautioned on danger of Covid-19 unlock

Y Vikheho Swu along with other officials and public leaders at the inauguration of a TrueNat laboratory at CHC Pughoboto on September 15.

Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): NPF legislator Y Vikheho Swu has cautioned the public against the danger of Covid-19 unlock and has advised to be responsible while adapting to the new normal by continuing with washing of hands and wearing of face masks.

Swu stated this while speaking as the guest of honour at the inauguration of a TrueNat laboratory at community health centre (CHC) in Pughoboto town under Zunheboto district on September 15. The TrueNat lab was dedicated by SABAK home evangelist Atovi Asumi.

Swu thanked the administrative officers in the sub-division for maintaining law and order effectively before and during the pandemic. He also expressed gratitude to Dr. J Hokugha, SMO Pughoboto, for his service rendered towards the public since his posting to the sub-division. He also thanked the Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH) led by Inavi Swu and his team for taking the initiative for the free-will contributions to install the machine at the CHC Pughoboto.

Swu further assured relief packages under LADP fund for the health centres in the sub-division to sustain availability of first aid and medicines during the pandemic.

DPO (RCH and UIP) Nukshisangla, who came from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, appreciated the people’s involvement in their fight to contain Covid-19. She said that community participation is important for any programme to be successful and further called upon all to maintain the TrueNat machine.

SAH president Inavi Swu highlighted how the machine donation started and also congratulated the SDTF team for effectively controlling the virus in the division. He stated that the machine was installed to provide services to the neighbouring areas according to the norms and procedures.

While informing that SAH is trying to donate a semi-blood analyser, he requested the SMO to work out the details. He also disclosed that the hoho would provide 90 cartridges (three sets) for TrueNat and emergency medicine to the health centres under Pughoboto sub-division.

ADC Pughoboto, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, also congratulated the MLA, SAH, doctors and nurses, churches, NGOs for their contribution towards the installation of the machine. He further sought continued support and co-operation to fight the pandemic efficiently.

SMO, PHC Pughoboto, Dr. J Hokugha Sema, who also chaired the programme and delivered the welcome address, stated that Pughoboto CHC is the first block under Zunheboto district to install TrueNat machine and to assist the hardship faced by the district hospital.
