Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): As part of the Northeast Festival and to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Zunheboto Forest Division conducted a plantation-cum-awareness programme on May 2.
An update from the department stated that the programme was chaired by Dr. Prabhat Kumar, DFO of Zunheboto, which was participated by students from St. Anthony’s School.
It stated that short speeches were delivered by Rongsenlemla, CF (NTC); Rahul Bhanudas Mali; deputy commissioner of Zunheboto; and Khekali Y Sumi, superintendent of police, Zunheboto.
It stated that various speakers have highlighted on the importance of planting trees and conserving the biodiversity. They also encouraged the students to adopt environment friendly habits and to spread the awareness regarding conservation of biodiversity.
The programme was also attended by Moakumzuk Tzudir, ADC of Zunheboto; Ilamwangbe Zeme, ACF of Zunheboto; students and teachers of St. Anthony’s School, Zunheboto; DMU staff and staff of divisional forest office, Zunheboto.
