PIL filed against appointments in home dept

Dimapur, July 5 (ENM): A noted RTI activist from the state has today filed a PIL in the Gauhati High Court against the 239 Grade IV appointments made into the Home Department of the state on the contention that all the appointees are non-indigenous to the state of Nagaland.
A press release from the petitioner S.T Yapang stated that the PIL was filed “To review the 239, 4th grade staff who are non-indigenous inhabitants of state of Nagaland which was made unconstitutional and in violation of the state government notification dated 19/9/1987”.
The release also stated that the judge has give a time of four weeks till the next hearing but on the interim have “directed that no appointment to those 4th grade post shall be made without proper advertisement and the appointment be made only by complying the notification dated 19/9/1987 and fixed the matter for further hearing”.
