Physiotherapy department introduced in CIHSR

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 19

THE Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) today inaugurated physiotherapy department with State Disability Commissioner, Dr. Atha Vizol as the chief guest.
Dr. Vizol during the inaugural programme said that the people of Nagaland as a whole need such kind of department for physical and disability problems.
He said, there are only 50 physiotherapists in the state who are accommodated to various hospitals, clinics and in NRHM.
Dr. Vizol also congratulated CIHSR for making an effort to help the disabled people of Nagaland.
Presently, two physiotherapists- Sanam Rana and Grace Koza are employed at the department with 18 machines covering both the electrotherapy and exercise therapy sections. Manual therapy is also introduced for some patients.
Physical problems caused due to stroke, CP, head injury, spinal cord injury, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Bell’s palsy, etc. are treated in the department.
Dr. Andrew Babu, Head of Department- Physiotherapy CMC Vellore was also present during the inaugural programme.
