: The test result of a man, who travelled from Kohima to Tuensang on Tuesday night, has returned positive for Covid-19, a reliable source has informed on May 27, Wednesday.

The source said that the samples of the man who returned from Chennai on the special train were taken at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) along with other Chennai returnees and the Tuensang residents were sent off without their results.

“We received the results around nine in the morning and other results of other passengers are awaited,” said the source.

“It is sad that without knowing their results, positive passengers and negative ones were made to travel together to Tuensang,” the source said.

The positive-tested returnee has been shifted to the Covid-19 hospital at the district hospital, it was informed.

More than 170 passengers are reported to have reached Tuensang from Kohima around 4:30 am on May 27.

In view of the detection of the positive case that used to be quarantined at an institution, the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, has declared the institution a containment zone with immediate effect as defined in the standard operating procedure issued by the Health department.
