Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain arrives at Dimapur Airport

Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Lovlina Borgohain, who won bronze medal in boxing at the Tokyo Olympics, arrives at Dimapur Airport on Tuesday, after attending Indian Independence Day celebration in New Delhi.
MLA Biswajit Phukan and Golaghat district administration along with fans welcomed the bronze medallist at the Dimapur Airport, which is nearest airport to her hometown.
Fans waited patiently with banners and bouquets to welcome her but pushing and shoving began as soon as she stepped out of the airport with many trying to get closer to take a photo of her.
The 23-year-old boxer will be returning to her native village Baro Mukhia in Assam’s Golaghat district on Tuesday evening after her triumph at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics.
It was informed that she will be felicitated by various civil society organisations at a programme organised by the district administration on the same day.
