NUSU holds fresher’s meet

Dimapur, September 3: Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU), Kohima Campus, Meriema, held its 25th annual freshers’ meet cum Mr. & Ms. NUSU contest on August 30 at the State Academy Hall, Kohima.
The programme was chaired by its statistical secretary Ms. Visavonuo Zecho, while Ms. Ruthly S Zhimo invoked God’s presence. It was followed by the presidential address by Thongo Khenpong Konyak.
Prof. Pardeshi Lal, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, exhorted the students after which speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Ms. Seyievinuo, while Mhonchumo S Lotha, Associate Pastor of KLBC, prayed for the freshers.
Chief guest and Director of Higher Education, Alempokba, congratulated the students on their successful completion of graduation courses and also for having cleared the University entrance tests.
‘Just don’t dream one dream, dream multiple dreams,’ he said. In a world where only the fittest survives, he called on the need to introspect, assess and understand the confronting realities with established self esteem, hard work and determination.Citing examples of famous personalities like Abraham Lincoln and Lal Bahadur Shastri, he encouraged the students to never give up on their dreams but pursue in truth and perseverance.
The vote of thanks was delivered by its organizing secretary Imlisenla Jamir, while the benediction was said by Davilou Zho.
Meanwhile, Imtimongba Imchen and Noyingbeni T Erui were declared as the Mr and Miss NUSU contest 2016.
