NSRLM conducts workshop on FSSAI registration in Changtongya

Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): A part of the 75^th Independence Day anniversary (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (Day-NSRLM) under Changtongya block mission management unit (BMMU), in coordination with Health and Family Welfare department, organised a one-day workshop on Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence certificate for SHG producer members in Changtongya town on July 28.

An update from Day-NSRLM stated that the workshop was organised with an aim to create awareness to the SHG members in following food safety and quality standards and get FSSAI registered so that their products are assured quality and could be operated in the market without any hassle.

The workshop was presided over by the block programme manager of Changtongya RD block, Moanungsang, while the food safety officer of Mokokchung zone, Sukumlo Yanthan apprised the SHG members on the importance and benefits of getting registered under FSSAI.

Sukumlo Yanthan explained that by getting FSSAI registration would ensure better service of the products, gains customers’ trust and also prevent the customers from unhealthy and adulterated food supply. 

The assistant district programme manager of Mokokchung, Moatoshi, accompanied the FSO.

Report stated that online registration under FSSAI for SHG members was carried out after the workshop. Altogether, 105 SHG with its members from nine blocks under Mokokchung district were registered under FSSAI.
