In what is suspected to be recurrence of factional feud, a ‘home secretary’ of the Khole-Kitovi led NSCN was shot at and serious injured by armed miscreants in broad day light on the road to Showuba village, Dimapur. Confirming the incident, police said that suspected armed cadres of rival faction NSCN (K) shot the victim from 9 mm pistol after overtaking his vehicle on the road. Sources said that the victim identified as ‘home secretary’ of NSCN(KK) Ghukiho Zhimomi, who was reportedly travelling with his family, sustained bullet injury on the face and was rushed to Guwahati for treatment. The victim was driving a Mahindra Scorpio jeep. The unidentified miscreants in a Maruti Zen car after shooting at the victim escaped firing blank shots from the small arm. Police has recovered empty cases of 9mm. Further details are awaited till the time of filing this report.
