NSCN (K) reaffirms stand on Naga unity

Zeliangrong tribal leaders with the collective leadership of the NSCN/GPRN during a meeting on Tuesday.

Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): Niki Sumi-led NSCN (K) has reaffirmed its stand on peace and unity of all sections of the Naga society and reminded the tribal leaders of its endeavours for unity first and solution second.

This was conveyed to a delegation of Zeliangrong frontal organisations of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland including officials of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN), All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AMN) and Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation, which called on its president, Gen. (Retd.) Niki Sumi, and the ato kilonser, Starson Lamkang, in Dimapur on April 26.

A press release from NSCN/GPRN through its MIP stated that the collective leadership have reiterated the necessity of the people in all the Naga inhabited areas to be one in spirit and in deeds and seek the inherent rights of the people.

Urging the tribal leaders to continue to strive for united Nagas, the collective leadership pointed out that leaders of the Naga civil societies have a crucial role to play to bring the Naga people to one common goal.

It stated that the Zeliangrong delegation has expressed solidarity on Naga people’s desire for peace and unity irrespective of boundary demarcation and for solution to the aged-old Naga political struggle. The delegation also assured all possible cooperation towards the betterment of the Naga people.

Besides Gen. (Retd) Niki Sumi and Starson Lamkang, deputy C-in-C, Mansi Kamei, also spoke at the meeting that was chaired by its secretary, Inovi Naga.

The meeting concluded with a vote thanks proposed by kilo kilonser, Zheshito Swu, while the benediction was said by speaker of tatar hoho, Mhonbemo Tsanglao.
