Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) has accused former chief minister of Nagaland, Dr. SC Jamir of misinterpreting “the political meaning of every single word of the Framework Agreement (FA) to suit his own political propaganda.

In a press statement, the NSCN (IM) said that it was constraint to expose Jamir’s intentions following his another desperate attempt to campaign for the new version of the 16-Point Agreement during his recent meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and “his repeated disparaging remark against the inclusion of Naga flag and Yehzabo (Constitution) in the Naga solution”.

The group alleged that Jamir “attempted to finish the NSCN” when he was the chief minister and then unjustly delayed the Indo-Naga talk by publishing a book titled “Bedrock of Naga Society”, which claimed that 16-Point Agreement was the essence of Indo-Naga political agreement, at a time when the peace process was at its peak.

The NSCN (IM) went on to claim that Jamir has been trying to stop the implementation of FA by attacking and “outrageously” misinterpreting it, knowing that it would supersede the 16-Point Agreement.

“Mr. RN Ravi’s coming to Nagaland state as the Governor gave Jamir the best opportunity to divert and dilute the FA. Much to the fulfillment of his scheming political agenda, in 2017, a third party/force was created known as the NNPGs and agreement was signed which is called ‘Agreed Position’, targeted against the Framework Agreement,” it stated.

It went on to state that the former chief minister recently knocked at the door of the prime minister “to give strong hints to sign the Naga solution based on Agreed Position”, which it claimed is ‘just a re-edited version of the 16-Point Agreement’.

“But in the process, he does not foresee that it will invite another era of bloodshed. How we wish him to live another hundred years to witness how the Nagas defend their birthright!” read the statement from the NSCN (IM).

“The choice is left for the Prime Minister of India, either to choose Jamir the trouble maker or the permanent peaceful settlement of the Naga issue,” it added.
