Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland state has installed its 18 Chozuba assembly constituency unit under Phek district during a function held at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall in Chozuba on November 22.
An update from NPP Nagaland stated that Chiveyi Phesao Nyekha would lead the new team of Chozuba unit as president along with Nuvoto Nyekha as working president and other office bearers.
Some senior leaders including Veprasa Nyekha, former district and sessions judge, have expressed that the installation of NPP unit was a red-letter day for Chozuba which has produced tall leaders including the former chief minister of Nagaland, Late Vamuzo Phesao.
Addressing the gathering, president of NPP Nagaland, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, stated that there are no good or bad parties in politics but it is the leaders and the members which determine the image of the party. He added that good leaders would bring about all round development at all levels.
Dr. Ahoto highlighted that NPP is a people oriented party based on the ideology laid down by its founder, Late PA Sangma. He called upon the newly inducted members to work in close coordination with the district and state team and to choose capable leaders and urged them to be loyal to the party’s ethics and principles.
He further expressed confidence that the party’s motto of ‘One voice, one Northeast’ would surely take the region, especially the state of Nagaland, forward in the future.
Other speakers who spoke on the occasion included Deo Nukhu, senior state advisor-cum-convenor of NPP Phek district; Lima Longchar, state advisor-cum-convenor of Mokokchung district; and Dr. Keviseto Kintso, working president of state NPYF and convenor of NPP Kohima district.
The function was attended by the party’s state and district functionaries including officials of the women and youth Wing.
