Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) central women wing and central youth wing have congratulated MLAs Kuzholuzo Nienu and Dr. Nganshi K Ao on their new assignments as the leader of Legislature Party and Party Chief Whip respectively.

While lamenting the unfortunate turn of events where 21 MLAs had ‘abandoned’ the party, they expressed gratitude and respect to the few leaders who have remained with the party. The wing ardently prays that God will reward them abundantly and give them the courage and wisdom to lead the party to greater heights.

“The Youth Wing expresses its resentment over the defection of 21 of its MLAs to another political party including its former leader TR Zeliang but asserted that their desertion cannot weaken the party but with the remaining 4 MLAs, it will revamp and revive the party to a greater fold,” it read.

The wings also reaffirmed their support to the leadership of the party President, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu.

The women’s wing appealed to all the party rank and files, from the central to the unit level, ‘not to be deterred or discouraged but to hold steadfast to the party principles and continue to serve the party with integrity’.

Meanwhile, the youth wing also reiterated to the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio to award the UDA chairmanship and a Cabinet berth among the four NPF MLAs and expressed hope that under the UDA government initiatives, “the Naga political problem will achieve a positive expectation of the Naga people”.
