Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): Naga National Council/ Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) expressed joy that the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has decided to commemorate the 73rd Naga Independence Day on August 14 at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima, from 11 am onwards by hoisting the Naga national flag.
NNC/FGN has described as ‘a just and wise decision’ to take at this crucial juncture and conveyed sincere appreciation to all the leaders and members of the NSF.

NNC/FGN statement through its Rali Wali Ministry has assured to support and supply all relevant historical documents of the nation including the background and significance of the Naga national flag. It has also suggested to hoist the original Naga national flag which was hoisted for the first time on March 22, 1956, at Parashen in Rengma region by proclaiming the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN).

It quoted a letter written to NSF by AZ Phizo, former NNC president and father of the Naga nation, dated December 1, 1983, which stated, “The future of our country belongs to the youth and I have no doubt that our youth will respond to the challenge of defending the country. Because of its size, a big country does not have the right to invade a small country. I am absolutely certain that we shall win because the right is on our side.”
The ministry further wished NSF a grand success.
