Naga National Council and Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) commemorates 72nd anniversary Naga Plebiscite Day
DIMAPUR — Naga National Council and Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) commemorated the 72nd anniversary of the Naga Plebiscite Day on May 16 at Toulozuma village, Chümoukedima, and Noklak town.
A press release issued by the FGN ministry of Rali Wali stated that the programme in Noklak town was chaired by P Samuel, kilonser of Border Affairs, while the Bible reading and prayer was led by LK Pishen, chaplain, and the message of NNC president was read by Dr. Aimong, NNC joint secretary NNC.
It stated that short speech was delivered by its killo kilonser, P Puthai Lam, and concluded with a benediction said by Lusang, NNC executive member.
The programme in Toulozuma village was chaired by the FGN secretary general, Ghuvishe V Zhimomi, which was well attended by most of the high ranking officials of the NNC/FGN.
The invocation prayer and Bible reading was led by the kilonser Hekhuvi Achumi, while the message of the NNC president was read by Bengdang Sangtam, NNC vice president and a song was presented by Asu Shijoh and friends.
It stated that short speeches were delivered by Brig. (Retd) S Singnya, kedahge of the FGN, and Zhopra Vero, kedallo of the FGN, and concluded with a benediction said by Major General Anito Yepthomi, GOC of Western Command, Naga Army.
In his short speech, Brig (Retired) S Singnya has stressed on the need of the Naga unity at this crucial hour and the necessity for an early solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political problem.

In a related programme, NNC Lotha region observed the 72nd Naga Plebiscite Day on May 16 in Wokha town.
The programme was chaired by Orenthung Yanthan, joint secretary of the region, and the Plebiscite theme was delivered by Nyamo Murry, advisor-cum-central executive committee member of NNC Lotha region.
