NLA complex turns Green & free plastic zone

SPEAKER, Nagaland Legislative Assembly has declared Nagaland legislative Assembly as ‘Green and plastic free zone’ to shape the complex into ‘an attractive, pollution free and adorn a magnificent look’. According to a press release issued by NLA secretary, AE Lotha, this has been necessitated keeping in view the visits of various delegations of dignitaries from outside the state and even from abroad frequently to the state capital and assembly complex who would carry the cherished memories of their visit if the complex is protected, preserved at all times.
To uphold this slogan, the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat staff Association consisting of all officers and staff members have organized a social work in and around the Assembly complex on Saturday.
Following the social work, the entire complex was cleaned with the participation of staff members and reportedly transformed the area ‘practically into Green and plastic free zone which can stand as a testimony to emulate others. To make everyone cautious Green zone and Plastic free zone, boards were also erected at many locations, the release further stated.
