Never take posting in far-flung areas as punishment: Torechu

Parliamentary secretary for Excise, Legal Metrology and Statistics & chairman DPDB, Kiphire district, T Torechu called upon the officers to render their valuable services to the district and also reminded the members not to take as punishment for being posted in far flung areas of the state like Kiphire.He was addressing DDPB Kiphire meeting for the month of January 2014 on January 8, which was held at the DC’s conference hall. The meeting started with the introduction of new members which was followed by self introduction of all the members.
Addressing the board members, he stressed on quality education the chairman also reminded the teachers of the district to provide their valuable services and entrusted the SDEO Kiphire to supervise the department carefully.
Stating that Kiphire district has many Mithun projects, which at present was invaded by diseases the chairman felt the need for immediate vaccination and requested the Veterinary Department to provide necessary remedial measures for prevention.
He also regretted the non publication of most developmental activities of the district in the monthly Warrior Magazine and urged the department to take necessary steps in the near future. “Let us conspire to develop the district together and remove backwardness, and let the year 2014 be of practical/action challenging everybody that our initiative is valuable to the district,” he appealed.
Informing the board that a booklet on developmental works in the district would he published each year he requested all the developmental departments to submit department activities and achievements of the current year to the District Planning Machinery Cell.
Pondering on the agendas, the board decided to seek financial avenues for uniforms of Ex- servicemen of the district. Proposal for change of farming system in the district was also deliberated and in this regard, the DAO Kiphire was entrusted to study the suitable crops of the villages and submit its report to the DC by January 20. The District Industries and Commerce department was asked to arrange weaving units and directed the department to submit its view within a week time.
Parliamentary secretary of Power, C Kipili Sangtam who was also present in the meeting, announced that the transformer workshop would be opened in Kiphire in order to save time and money. He also suggested for conducting Awareness Campaign with the public for enhancement of power revenues collection.
The department of PWD (R&B) was asked to depute labours for clearing of jungles by the roadside and to fill potholes on the road.
The Board also decided to reiterate to the government for up gradation of Police Station in the district and up gradation of SDO Power to that of EE Power. PHED department was also advised for maintenance of water pipes in the town area.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by vice chairman DPDB Kiphire.
