DIMAPUR — The Naga Elders’ Forum Shillong (NEFS) and the Naga Students’ Union Shillong (NSUS), in collaboration with the blood bank unit of NEIGRIHMS Hospital, Shillong, conducted a blood donation camp on Saturday on the theme “It is someone today, but it could be you tomorrow.”
An update from NEFS stated that the blood donation camp was held to help those who are in urgent need of blood by voluntarily donating blood to the NEIGRIHMS blood bank.
It stated that different units of the Naga tribes, especially the students studying in Shillong came forward to donate their blood. Altogether, 51 volunteers donated blood during the camp held at Naga community hall, Nagaland House, Shillong.
The special guest of the event, Kupuesing Meru, ARC of Nagaland House, Shillong, encouraged the donors the importance of donating blood and not to give up doing good. He also declared the donation day open.
The programme was led by Lhouvirielie Usou, president of NEFS, while a prayer was said by Rev. Vemuriyi Vadeo, pastor of NCF Shillong.
