Nearly 10 lakh Covid-19 vaccines administered in Nagaland so far

As many as 9,92,485 doses of vaccines — Covishield and Sputnik V – have been administered in Nagaland till September 21.

According to data furnished by the department of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 987785 doses of Covishield — 677032 first dose and 310753 second dose – have been administered so far across the state.

A total of 4700 doses of Sputnik V — 2795 first dose and 1905 second dose — have been administered, according to the latest update.

The breakup of those vaccinated showed that 15994 healthcare workers (HCWs) had received first dose and 13209 second dose of Covishield; frontline workers (FLWs) had 60915 first dose and 46955 second dose of Covishield; but there is no record of HCWs and FLWs being inoculated with Sputnik V.

In the category of 45 years and above, 1,96,099 have received the first dose and 1,29,210 have received the second dose of Covishield. Meanwhile, 603 have received the first dose and 457 second doses of Sputnik V in the same category.

In the 18-44 years category, 4,04,024 have received the first dose and 1,21,379 second dose of Covishield, while 2795 first dose of Sputnik V and 1905 second dose.

The Covid-19 vaccination began in the state on January 16 with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launching the same wherein, it was first made available to the healthcare workers, followed by frontline workers, 45 years and above, and subsequently for 18-44 years from May 17.

Meanwhile, Sputnik V was made available in the state from July 12 at some private hospitals in Dimapur and Kohima on payment basis.
