NCORD inspects pharmacies in Mokokchung town
DIMAPUR — The District Level Committee for Narcotic Coordination Centre (NCORD) conducted an inspection of pharmacies across Mokokchung town on September 9 and 10.
According to a DIPR report, a total of 78 medical shops were inspected and five pharmacies found with expired drugs. During the inspection, it also was observed that 18 medical shops lacked CCTV cameras, and 23 shops did not have their H, H1, X registers, both in violation of the directives issued to them.
Additionally, seven pharmacies were closed during the inspection. However, no narcotic or illegal drugs were found overall.
Following the inspection, several store owners proactively visited the chief medical office to retrieve the H, H1, and X registers. The inspections were part of an ongoing effort to combat drug abuse and to ensure that pharmacies adhere to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
