NCDC launches paperless English, teacher training

Kohima, May 24 (EMN): In a first of its kind, the National Child Development Council (NCDC), a National Child Welfare Organisation based in New Delhi has introduced online — Paperless English Training (PET) and Teacher Training in Child Education — in Nagaland.

This was announced by NCDC faculty-cum-admission co-ordinator, Yaomichon Ragui during a press conference held at Crescent International Hotel in Kohima on Tuesday.

She said that PET is meant for school and college students who find it difficult to speak English despite having studied English for many years, adding that at present the youngest learner is a student of Class 4 including someone as old as a retired person.

It stated that, in addition to spoken English training, general knowledge and skill development are also included in the programme, while daily lessons and activities will be shared directly with the learners through WhatsApp and live lessons every Sunday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

“Its module gradually helps the students to talk in English through games and puzzles without learning grammar” she said.

Further Ragui said that NCDC is also offering new online batch of teacher training courses in child education for women. For an applicant to avail the benefit, one has to be a qualified student from Class 10 to degree.

It informed that the courses offered are: Certificate in International Preschool Education (1 year, qualification-10th pass),

Certificate in International Montessori Education (1 year, qualification-10th pass), Diploma in International Montessori Education (1 year, eligibility-12th pass), Post Graduate Diploma Courses are 1 year (eligibility-any degree) and Advanced Diploma in International Montessori Education (1 year, eligibility-TTC/ PPTTC).

She maintained that there is also working part time opportunity at NCDC, adding that for those who are interested in teaching, there is a half fee concession as well.
