Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): A ten-day combined annual training camp organised by the 1st Nagaland Girls battalion of the National Cadet Corps commenced at Sazolie College, on May 4 at Jotsoma in Kohima.
A defence release informed that a total 348 NCC girls and 52 boys from all the districts of Nagaland are attending the camp.
Brigadier SS Dhankhar, NCC group commander, and Colonel S Malik, director of recruiting at Rangapahar, visited the camp on May 6, the updates on Tuesday stated. They are stated to have delivered speeches to the cadets urging them to perform in all walks of life including in their careers in the uniformed services and armed forces.
The updates stated that the camp was organised with an aim to impart collective training to NCC cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership, character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship, ideals of selfless service and all round development of cadets.
The defence release stated further that a combined camp is being conducted in Nagaland for the first time in many years for both girls and boys.
