NBCC sensitises students on clean election

NBCC clean election movement team along with the teachers and students of Tetso College after the sensitisation programme on Tuesday.

The first phase of sensitisation and vision on clean election movement initiated by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) concluded at Tetso College on Tuesday.

Addressing the students on the occasion, four speakers gave motivating talks on the necessity of clean election movement, personal experiences and the need to engage in the movement.

An update from NBCC stated that the panelists were Dr. VilloNaleo, convenor of NBCC clean election movement; KevithoKera, Vitono Gugu Haralu and Limasenla.

The session was moderated by Vikhozono Kire, while Dr. SaniAthisü said the invocation and Vila Kiewhuo said the closing prayer. It stated that the crowed was enthralled with a song presented by the Colored Keys. The programme concluded with question and answer session.

Meanwhile, the convenor of NBCC clean election movement informed that the team has visited eight colleges in Dimapur and Kohima during its first phase within a span of two months. They have interacted around ten thousand students from these eight colleges, it added.

In support to NBCC clean election movement, Shalom Bible Seminary undertook a clean election rally at Sechü-Zubza on Tuesday with the participation of more than two hundred students along with faculty and staff.

It stated that participants displayed placards and chanted slogans such as ‘No proxy voting, one man one vote,’ ‘Election is the festival of democracy, not the time to loot,’ ‘Proxy voting equals to identity theft etc.’

The programme, which was conducted in Nagamese, was chaired by Tsathvü Leyri and prayer was said by Dr. SanyüIralu, principal of Shalom Bible Seminary.

Speeches were delivered Dr. Villo Naleo, academic dean, and Throngmusü, students’ president. It stated that students also presented a drama, while Thusutu Thur presented a self-composed song on change, which was followed with choreography.

It added that the community took a short walk till the Western Angami People Organisation (WAPO) ground and concluded with a mass prayer.
