Narcotic Cell arrests three persons with drugs

Personnel from Narcotic Cell Police Station, manning the interstate check gate at Khuzama in Kohima district, detected and recovered 11 packets of suspected opium worth INR 11 lakh on Tuesday.

A tweet from the Nagaland police stated that the police personnel manning the interstate check gate at Khuzama detected and recovered 11 packets of opium weighing approximately 11 kilograms during routine checking of vehicles from a Maruti Swift Dzire (white colour).

It also updated on their facebook page that the vehicle was bound for Kohima from Senapati in Manipur. It added that the consignment, worth around INR 11 lakh, was found concealed inside a specially designed compartment in the rear bumper of the vehicle.

It stated that the driver of the vehicle along with two occupants namely Ngashanngam Sharon (30) and Kholounü Pukhomai (19) has been arrested and further investigation is on. It further stated that a regular case in this connection has been registered at Narcotic Cell Police Station under NDPS Act.
