The Per Capita Income (measured as Per Capita Net State Domestic Product) of Nagaland has increased by a percentage change of 10.34% over the previous years. The increase for Nagaland is marked considerably over a period of three fiscal years i.e., 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and current fiscal 2014-2015.

Documents and parliamentary webcasts from New Delhi were made available to this reporter on Thursday, July 23.

On Wednesday, July 22, the minister for Statistics and Program Implementation, VK Singh, tabled before the Lok Sabha a list of percentages and growth that the states have shown during the past three fiscal.

The details show that while Nagaland still ranks in the below-15 tier, the tribal state has shown an increase at 10.34% in Percentage change in Per Capita Income over the previous year during the corresponding three years from 2012.

While the growth for the state is palpable, there were no explanations from the minister about the indices and parameters that determined the results. Listing out the information VK Singh told the Lok Sabha that the India’s national income have been increasing during the past three years. The national income in this context is measured as ‘Net National Income at market prices’ and Per Capita National Income measured as ‘Per Capita Net National Income at market prices’.

The report about the National Income and Per Capita Income for the current financial year will be released in the early part of next year, he told the Lok Sabha.
