Water Resources Department, Kohima, organises training programme on ‘Driving skills and etiquette.’

DIMAPUR — A one-day training programme on ‘Driving skills and etiquette’ for the drivers of the Water Resources Department (WRD) was held on Friday at the conference hall of Office of the Chief Engineer, WRD, Kohima.
In his welcome address, Sobu Angami, Additional Chief Engineer, spoke on the increasing number of vehicles and the challenges posed by bad road conditions, a DIPR report stated.
He highlighted the need to ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians, noting that many road accidents occur due to mechanical failures and carelessness.
Sobu also stressed the importance of smooth functioning among drivers and encouraged them to use DigiLocker for proper digital documentation.
He also urged the participants to develop skills for handling SOS and emergency situations.

The training featured three sessions. In the first session, Rhyuzamo Ezung, Motor Transport Officer, District Executive Force (DEF), Kohima, spoke on ‘Driving lenience, vehicle maintenance, traffic rules & road safety.’
The second session led by A Roland Jami, Superintending Engineer, WRD Kohima, focused on ‘Driving skills and driving etiquette.’
In the third session, Bushan Khaminungan, Registrar, WRD Kohima, spoke on ‘Roles and responsibilities of drivers.’
The programme was chaired by Wapangnaro Imchen, Executive Engineer, WRD.
