Nagaland steals show at Bharat Parv
Dimapur, August 19: Products of Nagaland ranging from handloom and handicraft as well as exquisite cuisines have drawn huge response at the week-long “Bharat Parv” festival from the August 12 – 18. The programme was organised by the Ministry of Tourism at Rajpath Lawns, New Delhi, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Partnered by the Ministry of Textiles, ITDC, NZCC, CPWD, NDMC, Police, Fire, New Variety, States and all stakeholders, the weeklong patriotic, tourism and cultural extravaganza was a successful grant event as indicated by the magnitude of the visitors.The rich cultural diversity of the country was showcased through cultural shows at the main hall as well as from the mini stages on either side and big screen set up throughout the venue. The armed forces band, static and moving was another highlight of the event. The crafts mela, the food courts and the theme pavilions drew enormous visitors throughout the week.
The State of Nagaland was visible through its participation from the department of tourism, handloom and handicrafts and the Naga cuisine from Nagaland Kitchen and Dzukou Tribal Kitchen.
In view of the popularity of the event, such platforms would be ideal in showcasing the state’s numerable initiatives and products in future.
