Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): With an aim to develop skills and provide employment opportunities to the educated unemployed candidates, YouthNet, in partnership with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), is conducting a month-long skill development training programme in construction painting (painters) under NABARD skill development and capacity building scheme.

The training is being organised in association with Asian Paints Colour Academy, an update from YouthNet stated on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural programme on May 16 at YouthNet Centre, Dimapur, Tiakala Ao, NABARD general manager, has acknowledged YouthNet for the initiative in providing a platform to unemployed youths and job seekers. She also extended her support and assistance in conducting more extensive and comprehensive programmes focused on livelihood through directed efforts in skill-building and employment support.

In her welcome address, YouthNet director, Nuneseno Chase, acknowledged NABARD for the continued support in its endeavours to create an ecosystem of skilled workforce for job seekers in various industries by way of carrying job mapping drives and making the candidates competent and skilled. She also acknowledged Samrat Ghosh, academy supervisor, and Bhargav Haloi, technical trainer of Asian Paints Colour Academy, for their support in bringing in their technical expertise in training unskilled labour and transforming unemployed youth into skilled professionals.

It mentioned that the month-long skill development training programme in construction painting (painters) would be conducted in two batches in Dimapur at YouthNet Centre, 4th Mile, near Agri Expo, for which registration for interested candidates are still open.

The programme would encompass basic skill building, sector-specific training, allied activities, assessments and feedback. It added that practical knowledge of specific trade construction painting (painters) would be provided in well-equipped labs and through YouthNet’s channelled training and placement partners.
