Nagaland reports single-day 33 Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Dimapur, Aug. 23 (EMN): Nagaland saw a single-day rise of 33 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the state’s tally to 29,622 and active caseload 916.

The state’s death toll remained the same at 596 with no death reported in the last 24 hours while the cumulative recoveries rose to 27,238 after 87 Covid-19 patients recuperated.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the new positive cases detected on Monday, 15 were in Dimapur, eight in Mokokchung, three in Wokha, two each in Kohima and Zunheboto, and one each in Peren, Phek and Tuensang.

As many as 25 patients recovered in Dimapur, 23 each in Kohima and Zunheboto, 12 in Mokokchung, three in Peren, and one in Wokha in the last 24 hours.

Nagaland currently has 916 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 714 are asymptomatic, 157 mild, 18 moderate on oxygen, 13 severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator. and nine in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur 340 patients, 239 in Kohima, 216 in Mokokchung, 23 each in Mon and Wokha 18 each in Zunheboto and Kiphire, 12 in Phek, 11 in Peren, 10 in Tuensang, and six in Longleng.

Meanwhile, India reported 25,072 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is lowest in 160 days, taking the tally to 3,24,49,306 and active caseload to 3,33,924, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.

The country’s death toll climbed to 4,34,756 following 389 more fatalities, while recoveries rose to 3,16,80,626 after 44,157 patients recuperated in the last 24 hours.

‘Weekly positivity rate is 1.91% and daily positivity rate is1.94%,’ said the report.
