Nagaland reports 31 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 31 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the tally to 31,547 and active caseload to 228.

The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,625 with recuperation of 28 more patients in the last 24 hours, while the death toll rose to 659 after registering one more fatality.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 21 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, five in Kohima, four in Peren and one in Mokokchung.

Of the 28 new recoveries, 20 were reported in Dimapur, six in Kohima, and one each Kiphire and Phek on Friday.

Nagaland currently has 228 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 161 are asymptomatic, 48 mild, three moderate on oxygen, 10 severe on oxygen, and six in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 123 cases, followed by Kohima with 51, 24 in Mokokchung, 12 in Tuensang, nine in Phek, three each in Wokha and Mon, two in Peren, and one in Kiphire, while Longleng and Zunheboto are currently Covid-free.

It may be mentioned that the state recorded nine cases, 17 recoveries and no deaths on Thursday.
