Nagaland reports 31 fresh Covid-19 cases, 1 death; India logs 18833 new infections

Nagaland reported 31 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the tally to 31,373, while active caseload decreased to 311 following the recovery of 32 patients.

The number of deaths increased to 652 with one more fatality registered in the last 24 hours, while the total number of recoveries rose to 29,390.

The department of Health and Family Welfare updated that 11 cases were reported in Dimapur, eight in Tuensang, five each in Kohima and Mokokchung, and one each in Mon and Phek on Wednesday.

Out 32 recoveries, 12 were in Dimapur, eight in Kohima, seven in Phek, three in Tuensang and two in Mokokchung.

The state currently has 237 asymptomatic cases, 55 mild, five moderate on oxygen, six severe on oxygen, and eight on ICU on ventilator. Out of this, Dimapur accounts for 175 cases, Kohima- 60, Mokokchung- 38, Phek- 10, Tuensang- 9, Kiphire- 6, Wokha- 5, Mon- 4, Longleng- 2, Peren- 2, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.

India logs 18833 cases

India added 18,833 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday taking the country’s total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,38,71,881, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,49,538 with 278 fresh fatalities.

Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 2,46,687 with the recovery of 24,770 patients in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,31,75,656 so far.

It stated that with the administration of 59,48,360 vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 92 crore (92,17,65,405).
