Nagaland reports 2 new Covid-19 cases; 6561 in India

Dimapur, Mar. 5 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of two Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 35,419 while the active caseload declined to 62 following recovery of three patients in Dimapur and one in Kohima.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33, 119 while the death toll remained unchanged at 753 with no fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, one each positive cases were reported in Kohima and Wokha.

Out of 62 active cases in the state, 56 are asymptomatic, five mild and one moderate on oxygen.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 41 infections, 14 in Kohima, five in Mokokchung, and two in Wokha, while Mon, Tuensang, Peren, Zunheboto, Longleng, Phek and Kiphire are currently Covid-19 free.

6561 new cases in India

India’s Covid-19 case tally rose to 4,29,45,160 with 6,561 people testing positive for the infection, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.

The active cases declined to 77,152, with the recovery of 11,651 patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll climbed to 5,14,388 with 142 more people succumbing to the disease, the data stated.

With the administration of more than 24.62 lakh (24,62,562) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 178.55 crore (1,78,55,66,940).
