Nagaland reports 2 fresh COVID-19 cases, 8 recoveries

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland increased to 35,873 with two fresh infections — one each in Dimapur and Mokokchung – detected on Tuesday, while the death toll remained unchanged at 771 with no fatalities reported during the same period.

An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that eight patients — six in Mon and two in Tuensang – recuperated in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 33,560 till date.

It added that the state currently has 29 active COVID-19 cases, out of which 18 are asymptomatic, nine mild, one in ICU without ventilator, and one in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Dimapur has six cases, five in Kohima, four in Mokokchung, three each in Longleng, Mon, Wokha and Zunheboto, and one each in Kiphire and Phek, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s active caseload currently stands at 1,11,252, and out of 2,12,129 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 8,813 returned positive.
