Nagaland records 43 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death; India 30256 infections

Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 43 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the tally to 30,907 and active caseload to 467.
The state’s cumulative recoveries also rose to 28,835 with 55 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 640 as one more fatality was reported.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 14 positive cases were reported in Tuensang, 13 in Dimapur, eight in Mokokchung, three in Kohima, two each in Kiphire and Longleng, and one in Wokha.
Of the 55 new recoveries, 36 were in Dimapur, nine in Kohima, eight in Wokha and two in Zunheboto.
Nagaland currently has 467 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 348 are asymptomatic, 81 mild, six moderate on oxygen, 15 severe on oxygen, seven in ICU without ventilator, and 10 in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 230 cases, followed by Kohima with 90, 55 in Mokokchung, 37 in Tuensang, 21 in Phek, 13 in Wokha, 10 in Kiphire, four in Zunheboto, four in Longleng, and three in Peren, while Mon is currently Covid-free.
India logs 30256 new cases
India reported 30,256 new coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,34,78,419, while the active cases declined to 3,18,181, the lowest in 183 days, following 43,938 recoveries, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The cumulative recoveries rose to 3,27,15,105 and death toll too climbed to 4,45,133 with 295 more fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
‘Weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.07% and daily positivity rate at 2.57%,’ it was informed.
A total of 80.85 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
