Nagaland records 111 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 13,965 as 111 more cases were detected on Wednesday.

The department of Health and Family Welfare informed through an update that 48 fresh cases were detected in Mokokchung, 20 each in Dimapur and Kohima, seven each in Phek and Tuensang, five in Mon, three in Kiphire, and one in Wokha.

The state currently has 13,965 active cases, out of which 2699 active cases, out of which 2484 are asymptomatic, 121 mild, 52 moderate on oxygen, 18 severe on oxygen, 16 in ICU without ventilator and eight in ICU with ventilator.

The state also registered 374 recoveries on Wednesday, out of which 229 were in Dimapur, Kohima-81, Mokokchung-36, Zunheboto-8, Mon-8, Kiphire-6, Wokha-4 and Phek-2.

Two more casualties were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 447.

More than 62K new cases in India

Meanwhile, India registered 62,224 new Covid cases on Wednesday, taking the total infection tally in the country to 2, 96, 33, 105 (2.96 crore) and active caseload to 8, 65, 432 (8.65 lakh), according to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

However, 2,542 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s death toll reached 3, 79, 573 (3.79 lakh).

It said that 28,00,458 (28 lakh) people were inoculated with the Covid vaccine in the last 24 hrs. As many as 26,19,72,014 (26.19 crore) doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been given under India’s immunisation programme.
