Nagaland Police MI room in Wazirabad gets a facelift

Dimapur, May 24 (EMN): The Medical Infirmary (MI) Room at the Nagaland Police camp at Wazirabad in New Delhi has been refurbished and upgraded into a six oxygen bedded infirmary.  In an update, the officers and personnel of Nagaland Police posted at New Delhi expressed their gratitude to T John Longkumer, Director General of Police, Nagaland for the financial assistance of INR 2.5 lakhs for the project; Teisovise Metha, President of the Nagaland Police Service Association (NPSA) and their colleagues for the financial assistance of INR 1 lakh to purchase and import oxygen concentrator and other materials; Wennyie Konyak, Deputy Resident Commissioner, New Delhi for bearing the cost of the purchase and  import of 10 oxygen cylinders amounting to INR 1.6 lakhs; Kuhovi Sema, Commandant 8th NAP Bn & Camp Commandant, Camp Wazirabad for the financial assistance and guidance.

It said that a small prayer meeting was held at Camp Wazirabad on Monday with Wennyie Konyaki as the special guest to dedicate the MI room.

It said that Shouka Kakheto, general secretary of the NPSA, speaking on the occasion highlighted the various works undertaken such as purchase of hospital beds, furniture, PPE equipment, medical equipment, life saving drugs, re- electrification works, carpeting, and other refurbishments. He highlighted that the project started under the directions of the PHQ but was scaled up with help coming in from various quarters.

“With the facilities now available, the infirmary has the capacity to further be upgraded to a 12 oxygen bedded infirmary if the need arises,” it said.

 Further, the unit ambulance has also been upgraded into an oxygen equipped ambulance. The occasion also marked the distribution of first aid pouches, containing medicines and supplements for all static guard posts of the Nagaland Police deployed in New Delhi.
